RSC: A 3D printed eyeball phantom for Sr-90 dosimetry measurements

Abstract Strontium 90 (Sr-90) has been commonly used in the radiation treatment of pterygia eye. A radioactive plaque is placed an applicator onto surface eyeball for a specific length time to achieve desired dose. Dose usually calculated using source activity and decay, as well distance from it However, this assumes flat eye surface. This investigation 3D printing produce anthropomorphic phantom on which perform dosimetry measurements two different sizes. These doses were compared planar geometry dose difference found. While are useful routine quality assurance, effects curved calculations can provide valuable clinical information.
